Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
This early 1990s fictional interpretation of a combination of California and Nevada isn't just a greater Los Angeles called San Andreas (New York or Chicago's Liberty City of the west). As Game Informer goes on to elaborate, it is instead an amalgamation of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and all of the countryside that would lie between them. Each of the three areas corresponding to the three real-life cities upon which Rockstar drew inspiration is said to be as large as all of Vice City. Put them together and add in the in-between roads and you have a map that's substantially more than thrice the size of the last GTA.

Transformers
Oh yes, we've waited long for this. Die Autobots!
It may be hard to swallow, but even without adrenaline pumping tunes, the screams of "Die Decepti-creeps" and "Eat this, Auto...dicks" the game still manages to actually improve upon the seemingly repetitious action it establishes in the first level. Escalating difficulty, more powerful enemies, more lethal weapons, more useful upgrades, and intricately designed latter levels couple with an assortment of amazing "wow" moments to create an undeniably fun shooter.

DRIV3R
Set in Miami, Florida; Nice, France; and Istanbul, Turkey, Driver 3 offers fewer cities than in the previous games, but these cities are larger than before. For trivia-happy kids, the game has an impressive set of stats: it's got 31,000 buildings, nearly 30 square miles per city and, if you drove all of the streets once, the odometer would read 153.1 linear miles. Again, like in previous games in the series, Driver 3 is going for photo-realistic visuals not arcade-style re-creations. These digital cities will look like the urban centers you've seen in movies or have driven through or played in real life.

Kingdom Hearts II
This is a preview for Kingdom Hearts II
Improved graphics, new environments, and plenty of familiar characters. This sequel starts nearly a year after the original game left off. No new details on the storyline were presented, but it was said that we will meet old characters, meet new characters, and see everyone meeting everyone else. The quick flashes of successive scenes faded in and out of conversational moments, typically diverse and colorful landscape shots, and non-interactive character animation sequences. Ninja Mickey chopping down an army of hooded goons of unknown deviousness and Donald, Sora, and Goofy standing next to one another as an army of evil approaches. Then it would again fade in and out, blasting more imagery and quick portraits onto the screen... Disney's Hercules, Aladdin, that evil sea biscuit from The Little Mermaid, Arial herself, Peter Pan, Belle and the very angry Beast, and more Final Fantasy characters, even. Impressive!

Tekken 5
This is a preview for Tekken 5
Following the events of Tekken 4, Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima are faced with an army of Proto Jack robots, being deployed by a new villain. This new character is named Raven, and eerily resembles Wesley Snipes' Blade from the Blade movies. While he's certainly ripped, the man moves extremely fast, and seems to use basic karate moves to pummel his opponents. Of course, he's not without any flash. When people are thrown into walls, debris also falls down once impact is made. Another interesting tidbit is that Marduk now has an airthrow, where he can grab someone after he's launched them into the air, and slam them into the ground.

Van Helsing
Over the course of the game, Van Helsing hunts the elusive Dracula and comes across the Wolf Man, Frankenstein, Igor, and Mr. Hyde along the way as well as hundreds of other enemies. The action for the game focuses on near-constant fighting with either a projectile weapon or one of two handheld blades. Starting out, the man Van has his trusty pair of pistols and spinning hand blades that can rip through flesh. This will change as Van Helsing moves on up to the chaingun and a pair of swords. Most of the weapons have a more powerful form that can be used for a short time.

God of War
This is a preview for God of War
Similar to franchises like Devil May Cry, Rygar, and Castlevania, the game draws its inspiration from ancient Greek mythology and boasts a heavy emphasis on exploration and battle strategy. Broken into three to four acts, the game also has a strong focus on story-telling and boast tons of magic spells and abilities. Described as "Clash of the Titans meets Heavy Metal", God of War equips its hero with a pair of sword-like chain weapons that can grab enemies, perform multi-hit combos, and pull off a variety of different aerial attacks.

Prince of Persia Warrior Within
This is a preview for Prince of Persia Warrior Within
All of the slick animations have returned, but atop them comes a new array of impressive acrobatic techniques, such as using a rope to aid in a wall run, and an even more impressive combat system. This revitalized brawling no longer halts the progression of the game to show the Prince pulling out his sword, only to have him put it away again as the action is completed. Instead, Prince will run over enemies as they come and will fight them where they are, and how he chooses. This more dynamic style of combat is being compared to something like Tony Hawk, which, while not all similar in play, also prides itself on allowing players the opportunity to string together a variety of vastly differing techniques, similar to what God of War does.

Dragonball Z : Budokai 3
After two generations of Dragon Ball fighting games that had plenty of consumer demand but definite room for improvement, you might guess that Atari would buckle down and churn out one for the fans -- a Dragon Ball Z fighting game to end all Dragon Ball Z fighting games. Atari's been recently proud to showcase its latest attempt at doing justice to the epic battles betwixt Goku, Freeza, and the rest of the DBZ cast too, with Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3. We think they've done a great job, so if you're a DBZ fan you just have to own this game!

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Stealth espionage action takes to the jungles in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for PlayStation 2 and PC. Set in what appears to be the 1960s, Snake Eater tells the story of a man who appears to be Solid Snake, but based on the time frame and information revealed in previous games, could be someone else altogether. Survival is a major theme throughout MGS3, as Snake must adapt to the harsh jungle environment, while at the same time battling enemy soldiers. Snake Eater promises a complex plot and vivid music score to rival a Hollywood blockbuster, along with and realistic graphics and high-definition sound that will take the series to new heights
